The aim of the project is to develop a system which will effectively replace the telephone operator. It will be a fully automated system which, in communication with the existing PBX, transfers calls to appropriate extension within the organization or to the outside. The system will use advanced speech technologies – advanced systems for the speech recognition and speech synthesis in Serbian. It will no longer be necessary to memorize an extension or a phone number of a business partner, it will be enough to know the name of the desired person. The user will not need to know the full name of the contact. It will be enough to say any part of the name of the contact and the system will offer all available alternatives. The project activities are divided into two groups. The first group is related to the actual development of the VoiceDial system (equipment acquisition, development of the module for PBX connection, ASR&TTS server connection, database structure design, IVR application design and its integration into the system). The second group of activities is oriented on the dissemination of project results from both scientific and commercial aspect.
